About 'Surprised!' by Henri Rousseau

This umbrella features the first of the jungle artworks by the post-impressionist French painter Henri Rousseau (also known as the untrained godfather of modern art), and it is one of the main pieces for which he is chiefly known. The painting depicts a tiger illuminated by a bright flash of lightning, preparing to jump over its prey in the middle of a raging storm. Rousseau had never visited a jungle before, meaning the tropical landscapes came from the artist's imagination inspired by the stories about Mexico told by French soldiers and by the visits he paid to the Jardin de Plantes in Paris.

Part of Fulton's National Gallery Umbrellas Range

This range of umbrellas from Fulton is designed to showcase the beauty of some of the best art exhibited at The National Gallery, ensuring you get both top-quality rain protection and unique designs to make your umbrella a statement piece in your everyday look.

Double Canopy with Concealed Ribs

The double canopy on this umbrella is bigger than the ones found in average umbrellas, meaning that it will cover your entire head and shoulders and guarantee that you will stay dry during any commute.

Automatic Opening Mechanism

Manual umbrellas can be inefficient, especially when you require instant coverage on rainier days. At the press of a button, Fulton Bloomsbury National Gallery Automatic Luxury Umbrella ('Surprised!') opens up automatically, meaning your not let out for too long in the rain whilst while opening your umbrella.

Extra-Strong Steel Frame

The extra-strong steel frame will easily hold up to any rainstorm, meaning you won't have to worry about your umbrella going inside out or snapping in half in the midst of it.
